According to the information from Mangshi Culture and Tourism Group, with an estimated investment of 170 million yuan, the silver pagoda covers an area of 8 hectares. The project has been in construction since the end of 2009. It was restarted in the second half of 2015 after a pause due to lack of fund. In March 2016, Mangshi Culture and Tourism Group launched the exterior decoration of the pagoda, 95% of which was completed up to January, 2017. The pagoda has been in operation since the Spring Festival.

Visitors to the pagoda enjoys a remarkable view, overlooking the beautiful Peacock Lake from the east and appreciating scenery in south of Mangshi from the west. The Golden Pagoda and Silver Pagoda add radiance and beauty to each other, decorating the fresh water and blue sky of Dehong. In numerous nights, they illuminate the way home for residents, shining as the “brightest stars in the sky”.
