  A few days ago, several departments related to public security, foreign affairs and tourism formed a team to prepare for the restoration of cross-border tourism and the resumption of distance certificates handling. To promote the tourism in border areas, these departments also held discussion on such issues as resuming certificate handling and restoring Sino-Burma cross-border tourism.

  Through the communication of government and the public, the bilateral sides signed Protocol on Friendly Cooperation Between Chinese and Burmese Tourism Associations on December 10,2012. The agreement states that the Sino-Burma cross-border tourism is to be undertaken by such Chinese travel agencies as Ruili Haiwai, Wanding Haiwai , Mangshi Jingtaiyang and several Burmese agencies ,for example Sida, Zhenbao and Mingzu. The protocol also includes an appropriate travelling route. The two sides reached agreement that they would establish a long-lasting regional cooperation relationship and hold quarterly meetings in order to enhance communication on tourism information and propel the development of the two countries' airline markets .

  The preparation team for restoration of cross-border tourism and resumption of distance certificate handling was formed in March ,2013. It is divided into several sub-teams which are responsible for such work as tourism planning, renovation of border areas, prohibition of gambling, coordination of foreign affairs, certificate handling and so on. The primary aims of the team lie in handling certificate , putting related policy into practice and promoting the sound and rapid development of tourism.
